Jubilee
Tour to Capetown 2010
In
light of the current recession we find ourselves in, the commitee have
come to the view that the planned tour to Australia to celebrate the
50th Anniversary of the Jack Frost XI, was a bridge too far.
Instead the plan is to tour to Cape Town, South Africa in March 2011 as
part of our Jubilee celebrations.
The
tour is currently in the planning stage with our committee travel
expert, Tim Martin, who is exploring the best options.
A tour of 7-10 days incorporating probably three matches, golf and wine
tasting is being planned. This tour would be obviously much less
expensive and less time consuming than a trip down under. Details
will be sent to members in Early 2010. Please register your
interest in touring, with our treasurer Dom Bryan by emailing him
through:

Autumn
Golf Meeting 2009
On
26th October the Autumn Golf Meeting was held at Woking Golf
Club. Another good turnout saw 24 Frosters and friends playing on
a beautiful Autumn day on an excellent course with fast greens.
In
order to slow down the swings a hearty breakfast preceeded the tee
times. Following play a good lunch was consumed before the Lipop
trophy was presented. It was retained by the Klimcke family; this
time the winner was the golf secretary Andy Klimcke with 33 points with
the Chairman in the runners up slot with 32. Thanks were
expressed by the Chairman to Andy for organising another excellent golf
day.
Welcome
In
the 2009 season we welcomed two new qualifiers. Congratulations
and a big welcome to Bud Abeysekera a prolific batsman and useful
bowler and Harvey Jackson - an accomplished all-rounder. Both
players demonstrated their skills on several occasions during the
season.
A
successful season
For
the first time in three years the XI recorded more wins than losses
with a ratio of 9 to 6 with only 3 draws. However 10 matches had
to be cancelled mainly due to the weather.
