50th
Anniversary - 2011
|
Next
year sees the 50th anniversary of Jack Frost XI. In 1961, our President
and Founder, Tony Gill, set up a wandering cricket club with the
objectives to play attractive cricket, upholding the spirit of the game
and to endeavour to extend the cricket seasons at both ends.
Since the beginnings of the Club, Jack Frost XI has toured overseas on
numerous occasions visiting destinations from San Francisco to Sydney,
Spain to Sarasota. We are delighted to announce that to celebrate
this momentous occasion Jack Frost XI will be going on Tour to Cape
Town, South Africa in February and March 2011.
The Destination
Set
between the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the craggy
heights of Table Mountain, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful
cities in the world. It
is the home to white sand beaches, world class golf courses, five star
restaurants and stunning winelands. The Victoria and Albert
Waterfront offers a vibrant and exciting nightlife, whilst trips to
Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated, give an insight
into South Africa’s troubled past. Frosters can enjoy walks on Table
Mountain, and spot wildlife en route to the Cape of Good Hope. On the
Indian Ocean side where the waters are warm, whale sightings and
penguin colonies are commonplace.
Both beautiful and fascinating, Cape Town has something to offer every
Froster, please find further information in the .pdf attachment.
